Organisers of the Scottish Fashion Awards have announced a stellar line up of judges for their 11th annual international gala awards ceremony. The line up includes global fashion players and industry icons such as Colin McDowell MBE, Jigsaw CEO Peter Ruis, ASOS Womenswear Design Director Vanessa Spence, Justine Picardie Editor-in-Chief of Harpers Bazaar, Trish Halpin Editor-in-Chief of Marie-Claire, Anna Murphy Fashion Director of The Times, Sara Maino, Head of New Talent & Senior Fashion Editor of Vogue Italia and Mickey Boardman Editorial Director of Paper Magazine New York, to name but a few. With applications now closed, it will be the job of this illustrious panel to consider the impressive line up of Scottish designers, textiles manufacturers and creatives all vying for the nations most coveted fashion crown.
TV presenter and journalist Jean Johannson will host the glamorous awards ceremony. A former model and regularly appearing in the nations fashion magazines, Jean is now a reporter on 'The One Show' on BBC1 and has been in broadcast since the age of 18 having fronted shows for CBBC and The Disney Channel. The gorgeous Glaswegian is no stranger to the event having covered the red carpet arrivals for television for several years but will now take the helm at the industry acclaimed event.
The international awards ceremony will be co-hosted by the Chairman Dr. Tessa Hartmann CBE and The Rt Hon David Mundell MP Secretary of State for Scotland in London on the 21st October 2016.
Rosewood London has been secured as the Official Hotel and setting for this glittering black tie gala, which has been entitled a 'Highland Gathering'. The official car partner Maserati GB, will chauffeur the enviable VIP guest list to the 5-star luxury hotel.
The event has now been recognised as one of the leading fashion events in Europe as it provides an invaluable platform to showcase emerging innovators, designers and creatives who are Scottish but working within the global fashion arena.
Dubbed 'The Oscar's of Scottish Fashion', the awards have never failed to disappoint on the party front either with the exclusive private members' club Tramp in Mayfair also being revealed as the host of the after party.
